Twitter enters the UK Top 100 sites

The microblogging website Twitter seems to have taken off in terms of traffic over the past few months. Being a relative newcomer myself to Twitter, I'm still exploring the possibilities and the countless third-party applications that are associated with it. When I read that Stephen Fry was a user (I think they are called "tweeters") and third in the rankings as most "followed" (according to this Techcrunch post is now second in popularity to the president of the United States, Obama) I decided to give it a try, being a fan of Mr Fry. I have to admit the more I learn about it the more engrossed I have become. For instance, in terms of breaking news, there seems to be a wealth of people on the spot "tweeting" about it e.g. the Hudson river plane landing. Today, I found that I could also follow the Ireland v Italy rugby match with updates about every minute on the progress of the game.
Below is a video clip from the Techcrunch article, of Stephen Fry on the Jonathan Ross TV show, who is also a tweeter known as "@wossy", talking about Twitter.
