Dizzler

Dizzler is a right 'bobby dazzler'. Sorry about that, giving away my north of England roots there. It's a media player which can search the web for streaming music, video, radio stations and games. Registering with Dizzler allows you to customise the player and create you own playlists of favourite media. You can either access it online or download it as a desktop application, with further options to embed it on Myspace, websites or as you can see below your blog.
Highly recommended for endless hours of entertainment.

Netvibes

Netvibes is a personalised homepage which enables all your RSS feeds, blog posts, search engines, widgets and much more to be aggregated on one page or a series of tabbed pages. Yahoo, iGoogle and Windows Live all perform similar functions but the layout, ease of use, flexibility and the ability to read all your newsfeeds etc. without having to leave Netvibes makes it my personal favorite. To view a tab I compiled showing news and information about my local town of Newton Abbot, click on the 'Netvibe' button

Anthropologist's Take on Web 2.0

Michael L. Wesch, an assistant professor of cultural anthropology at Kansas State University, was writing a paper about social networking and other interactive tools, which are collectively referred to as Web 2.0, when he decided to make use of the technology to spread his message. So he put together a short video, with a catchy soundtrack and rapid-fire editing, showing examples of Web 2.0 features and uploaded it to YouTube, the popular video-sharing site.

Within just a few weeks, the video had been viewed more than two million times and had sparked commentary from around the world. In a way, the short clip proved its own argument — that Web 2.0 is linking people in new ways and changing the way ideas are exchanged.

Blogmusik

This recently revamped site provides a huge resource of searchable music which allows the user to create personal playlists. None of the songs or playlists are downloadable but you can share a track via 'messenger' or email or embed the blogmusik player in your blog. However, the embed code doesn't seem to work for this blogspot.
